Let \(X\) be the scheme of fat points \((P_i,a_i)\) in the \(n\)-dimensional projective space, \(0\leq i\leq r,\) with \(a_i\) the multiplicity of \(P_i.\) Assume \(a_0\geq a_1\geq\ldots\geq a_r,\) and \(r\leq n\), i.e. we have at most \(n+1\) fat points in \(\mathbb{P}^n.\) Let \(I\) be the saturated homogeneous ideal of \(X.\) The main result of the paper says that \(I\) is componentwise linear, i.e. for every \(d\) the ideal generated by all the homogeneous elements of degree \(d\) in \(I\) has \(d\)-linear resolution (this property was introduced at first by Herzog and Hibi). Moreover the author computes formulas for the graded Betti numbers of ideals associated to two fat points in \(\mathbb{P}^n\) and at most \(n+1\) general double points in \(\mathbb{P}^n.\)
