Maximum modulus points \(w\) of an entire function \(f\) are defined by \(| f(w)| =M(| w| ,f)\) where \(M\) is the maximum modulus function of \(f\). Let \(R(w,f)\) be the distance between the zero set of \(f\) and a maximum modulus point \(w\). Earlier [Complex Variables 48, 583--598 (2003; Zbl 1033.30020)] the present authors derived asymptotic lower estimates of \(R(w,f)\). In this paper they study \(R(w,f)\) for what they call entire functions of \((V, \theta)-\)regular growth, which means \[ \log M(r,f)=\sigma V(r)+O(\theta(r)), \] where \(V(r)=r^{\rho (r)}, \rho(r)\) being a proximate order subject to certain additional regularity conditions, called admissible proximate order, and \(\theta(r)\) is a positive nondecreasing function dominated (in a specified sense) by \(V(r)\). It should be noted that the results are applicable to entire functions of zero and infinite order as well. We state the main result. Theorem 2.1. Let \(\rho(r)\) be an admissible proximate order. If \(f\) is of \((V, \theta)-\)regular growth, then for all sufficiently large \(| w| \) the inequality holds \[ \frac{R(w,f)}{| w| }\geq 1-\exp \left\{-\frac{C}{| w| V'(| w| )}\sqrt{ \frac{V(| w| )}{\theta(| w| )}}\right\} \] where \(C\) is a positive constant.
