The thermal management of electronic devices, chemical and food processing are two examples of the numerous technological applications of thin films. Thermocapillarity-induced flow and evolution of thin liquid films on horizontal structured heated walls are studied in this paper both theoretically and numerically. In section 2, the model of the flow field and film evolution are presented, concluding to linear stability analysis and direct numerical simulation of the thermocapillarity convection and film dynamics. In section 3, the stationary films and their stability to long-wave disturbances is studied together with the nonlinear film dynamics and rupture.
