On stability and bifurcation of periodic solutions of delay differential equations (Q2574343)

The paper studies scalar delay differential equations of the form \[ \dot x(t)=F(x(t),x(t-nr),x(t-2nr)), \] where \(r>0\) and \(n=1,2,\ldots\), and \(F\) has the special structure \(F(x,y,-x)=-F(-x,-y,x)\). The authors study stability of the origin, Hopf bifurcations and the existence of periodic orbits partly by linear stability analysis, and in part by considering the planar system \(\dot x=F(x,y,-x)\), \(\dot y=F(y,-x,-y)\).
