The main results in this paper give interesting bounds on the variability of certain classes of analytic functions at a fixed point in the unit disc. For a complex number \(\alpha\) with \(| \alpha| \leq 1\), let \(\mathcal{B}(\alpha)\) be the class of analytic functions \(f\) in the unit disc \(\mathbb{D}\) such that \(f(0)=0\), \(f'(0)=\alpha\), and \(| f'(z)| \leq 1\) for \(z\in{\mathbb{D}}\). On the other hand, for \(Re\,{\alpha}>0\), let \(\mathcal{P}(\alpha)\) be the class of analytic functions \(f\) in \(\mathbb{D}\) with \(f(0)=0\), \(f'(0)=\alpha\), and \(Re\,{f'(z)}>0\) for \(z\in{\mathbb{D}}\). For each \(z_0\in{\mathbb{D}}\), define \[ V_{\mathcal{B}}(z_0,\alpha)=\{f(z_0)\,:\,f\in \mathcal{B}(\alpha)\}\,\text{for}\, \alpha\in{\overline{\mathbb{D}}}, \] \[ V_{\mathcal{P}}(z_0,\alpha)=\{f(z_0)\,:\,f\in \mathcal{P}(\alpha)\}\,\text{for}\, Re\,{\alpha}>0. \] It is proved, for example, that if \(z_0\in \mathbb{D}\setminus{\{0\}}\) and \(| \alpha| <1\), then \(V_{\mathcal{B}}(z_0,\alpha)\) is a convex closed Jordan region enclosed by a specified simple closed curve. Also, if \(z_0\in \mathbb{D}\setminus{\{0\}}\), then \(V_{\mathcal{P}}(z_0,\alpha)\) is a convex closed Jordan region enclosed by a specified simple closed curve.
