    The paper deals with the initial value problem \[ \begin{cases} y'(t) = f(t,y(t),y), &\quad a\leq t\leq b, \\ y(t) = \varphi(t), &\quad a-\tau\leq t\leq a,\end{cases}\tag{*} \] where \(a\), \(b\), \(\tau\) are constants, \(-\infty<a<b<+\infty\), \(0\leq \tau\leq+\infty\), \(\varphi\in C_X[a-\tau,a]\) is a given initial function, \(f\: [a,b]\times X\times C_X[a-\tau,b]\to X\) is a given comtinuous mapping and the symbol \(C_x(I)\) denotes a Banach space consisting of all continuous mappings \(x: T\to X\), on which the norm is defined by \(\| x\| _\infty = \max\limits_{t\in I} \| x(t)\| \). For problem (*), some results on stability, contractivity and asymptotic stability of solutions are obtained.
