Let \(X,Y\) be non-Archimedean Banach spaces over a complete non-Archimedean valued field with a non-trivial valuation, \(T\in L(X,Y)\). The author finds conditions upon the space \(Y\), under which (as in the classical operator theory) the following assertions regarding the operator \(T\) and its adjoint \(T':\;Y'\to X'\) are equivalent: (\(\alpha\)) \(R(T)\) is closed in \(Y\); (\(\beta\)) \(R(T)={}^\bot \ker (T')\); (\(\gamma\)) \(R(T)\) is weakly closed in \(Y\); (\(\delta\)) \(R(T')\) is closed in \(X'\); (\(\varepsilon\)) \(R(T')=(\ker T)^\bot\); (\(\zeta\)) \(R(T')\) is \(*\)-weakly closed in \(X'\). Examples in which the above equivalences are violated are also given. Previously, some of these results were known for the case where \(K\) is spherically complete [\textit{T. Kiyosawa}, Ill. J. Math. 28, 353--369 (1984; Zbl 0545.46059)], or under additional assumptions regarding the space \(X\) [\textit{C. Pérez-García}, Bull. Soc. Math. Belg., Ser. B 42, No. 1, 69--85 (1990; Zbl 0732.47056); Bull. Soc. Math. Belg., Sér. B 42, No. 1, 86--101 (1990; Zbl 0732.47057)].
