It is well known that sets of \(p\)-capacity zero have generalized Hausdorff \(h\)-measure zero provided that \[ \int_0^1 (t^{p-n}h(t))^{1/(p-1)} t^{-1} dt <\infty. \] The authors study similar relationships between Orlicz capacities \(\text{cap}_\Phi\) and generalized Hausdorff measures \(\Lambda_h\) on metric measure spaces. Under the assumption that the metric space is doubling and supports a weak \(1\)-Poincaré inequality, they prove that \(\text{cap}_\Phi(K)=0\) implies \(\Lambda_h(K)=0\), provided that \[ \int_0^1 \Theta^{-1}(t^{1-s}h(t))dt < \infty, \] where \(\Theta^{-1}\) is the inverse of the function \(\Theta(t)=\Phi(t)/t\). Here \(s\) is the upper dimension of the metric measure space \((X,d,\mu)\), i.e. for every ball \(B\) there is \(C>0\) such that \(\mu(B(y,t))\geq Ct^s\) for all balls \(B(y,t)\subset B\). In spaces satisfying the weak \(q\)-Poincaré inequality with \(q\geq 1\), a similar result is obtained under a slightly more restrictive condition.
