The main aim of this paper is to build up a robust finite element routine for solving a reaction-diffusion equation. The author takes into account general right hand side terms and solves inexactly the corresponding Galerkin systems. With these two ingredients he introduces a uniformly convergent (with respect to reaction parameter) adaptive finite element method. Moreover, the uniform convergence is proved whenever a piecewise linear approximation for the right hand side is used. A special condition, which involves the reaction parameter and the initial step size, must be fulfilled in this case.
