The paper is a continuation of the article [\textit{L. M. Abreu, M. de Montigny, F. C. Khanna} and \textit{A. E. Santana}, Ann. Phys. 308, No. 1, 244--262 (2003; Zbl 1038.81043)]. It lies within the scope of a program in which the Galilean-invariant field theories are quantized by using the canonical method and the five-dimensional Lorentz-like covariant expressions of non-relativistic field equations. First, complex scalar fields are considered, where the Schrödinger field follows from a reduction of the Klein-Gordon equation in the extended space. The underlying discrete symmetries are discussed, and are calculated the scattering cross-sections for the Coulomb interaction and for the self-interacting term \(\lambda\Phi^4\). It is shown that the Dirac equation, upon dimensional reduction, leads to the Lévy-Leblond equations. The model allows (like its relativistic analogue) the existence of antiparticles. Scattering amplitudes and cross-sections for the Coulomb interaction, the electron-electron and the electron-positron scattering, are calculated. The paper contains as well a useful appendix on scalar fields, Fermi fields and the non-relativistic Proca field, which is briefly discussed.
