The authors consider the three-dimensional Neumann problem for the Laplacian. They split the corresponding boundary element method (BEM) solution into four parts, namely: the regular part, the edge singularities part, the vertex singularities part and the edge-vertex singularities part. They analyze the \(p\)-version of the BEM in order to approximate this solution. It is important to notice that the operators hypersingular involved act on spaces of functions defined on plane open surfaces with polygonal boundary. The optimal rate of convergence of the \(p\)-version of the BEM solution in fractional order Sobolev spaces is eventually obtained.
