Let \(P_\alpha\) be the quadratic polynomial \(P_\alpha(z) = e^{2i\pi\alpha}z + z^2\) and \(J_\alpha\) its Julia set. For \(\theta\) an irrational number, let \(t_n = p_n / q_n\) be the approximants given by the continued fraction algorithm. The Ecalle repelling cylinder is the union of the repelling petals of \(P_{t_n}\), quotiented by \(P_{t_n}\). Let \(A_n\) be the image of the basin of infinity of \(P_{t_n}\) in this cylinder. The height of \(A_n\) is the real number \(\sup_{z \in A_n} \Im(z) - \inf_{z \in A_n} \Im(z)\). The authors show the two following conjectures. If \(\theta\) is a bounded type irrational, then 1) the height of \(A_n\) is bounded (independently of \(n\)) and 2) the area of \(A_n\) tends to \(0\) as \(n\) tends to infinity. According to Chéritat's thesis, it implies the following beautiful result: there exists a polynomial \(P_\alpha\) with a Cremer point, whose Julia set has positive Lebesgue measure. The proof of these conjectures is based on results of \textit{H. Inou} and \textit{M. Shishikura} [Parabolic renormalization, a preliminary note, manuscript] of \textit{C. T. McMullen} [Acta Math. 180, 247--292 (1998; Zbl 0930.37022)] and A. Chéritat 's thesis.
