A submanifold \(M'\) of an almost contact metric manifold \((M,\varphi,\xi,\eta, g)\) which is tangent to the Reeb vector field \(\xi\) is said to be \(\theta\)-slant, \(\theta\in [0,{\pi\over 2}]\), if for any \(p\in M'\), \(X\in T_pM'\), such that \(X\) and \(\xi_p\) are linear independent, the angle between \(\varphi X\) and \(T_pM'\) is the constant \(\theta\). Slant submanifolds are a particular case of bi-slant submanifolds. In fact, a submanifold \(M'\) of \(M\), which is tangent to \(\xi\), is said to be bi-slant if there exist two orthogonal distributions \(D_1\), \(D_2\) such that \(TM'= D_1\oplus D_2\oplus\{\xi\}\) and for any \(i\in\{1, 2\}\) \(D_i\) is a \(\theta_i\)-slant distribution. The author considers a locally conformal almost cosymplectic manifold \(M\) with pointwise constant \(\varphi\)-holomorphic sectional curvature \(c\) and compares the Ricci curvature of a submanifold \(M'\) of \(M\) which is either \(\theta\)-slant or bi-slant. Furthermore, he determines a lower bound for the squared mean curvature of a \(\theta\)-slant (bi-slant) submanifold \(M'\) of \(M\), proving an inequality which explicitely involves \(c\) and the function \(f\) such that \(f\eta\) is the Lee form of \(M\).
