The paper [\textit{Y. B. Jun} and \textit{X. L. Xin}, ``On derivations of BCI-algebras'', Inf. Sci. 159, 167--176 (2004; Zbl 1044.06011)] generalized the concept of derivation in rings and near-rings to BCI-algebras. Based on the above paper, in this paper the authors further introduce the notions of left-right resp. right-left \(f\)-derivation of a BCI-algebra, and give some of their properties. By means of regular \(f\)-derivation, a characterization of \(p\)-semisimple BCI-algebras is given.
