Let \(k\) be an algebraic number field containing the \(n\)-th roots of unity. Hecke gave a proof for Hilbert's reciprocity law over \(k\) in the case \(n=2\) [\textit{E. Hecke}, Vorlesungen über die Theorie der algebraischen Zahlen, Leipzig: Akad. Verlagsges. (1923; JFM 49.0106.10)] by means of Fourier analysis. The author wants to generalize this proof to arbitrary \(n\) and transforms the question into the context of derived categories and sheaf complexes.
