A useful approach to study linear actions of certain discrete subgroups of the special linear group of the plane is to relate their dynamical properties to those of the horocycle flow on the quotients of the hyperbolic space by this subgroups. In [Duke Math. J. 116, 353--388 (2003; Zbl 1020.37009)], the authors considered the natural generalizations of these results to the complex plane, quaternions and Clifford numbers by studying the relationship with the horospheres for frame flows on manifolds of constant curvature. In this in many respects interesting well readable complex paper, analogous problems are considered for the non-Archimedian local fields of \(p\)-adic numbers. Following Serre, one can define a ``geodesic flow'' for an associated tree. Essential is the concept of ``frame flows'' which are natural compact group extensions of the geodesic flow and the use of methods from symbolic dynamics, demonstrating conjugacies to certain subshift of finite type. Nice results on uniform distribution of actions of lattices are shown, including non-Archimedian versions of results in \textit{P. Sarnak} and \textit{M. Wakayama} [Duke Math. J. 100, 1--57 (1999; Zbl 0939.22008)], interesting estimates on certain character sums using Deligne's solution of the Ramanujan conjecture and a mixture of symbolic dynamics and representation theory which has parallels with the Lewis-Zagier approach to cusp forms in \textit{J. Lewis} and \textit{D. Zagier} [Ann. Math. (2) 153, 191--258 (2001; Zbl 1061.11021)].
