Kerr-Schild metrics and gravitational radiation (Q2576767)

The article studies Kerr-Schild type solutions with pure radiation fields which are asymptotically flat at future null infinity. It is shown that the Bondi news function vanishes identically for such solutions which implies that there is no gravitational radiation in these models. Formulae for the total energy and the angular momentum at \(\mathcal{I}^+\) are given. Vaidya's non-stationary generalization of the Kerr metric is considered as an example.
