Let \(G\subset\mathbb R^n\) (\(n\geq 2\)) be a bounded and simply connected domain with smooth boundary and assume that \(g:\partial G\rightarrow S^{n-1}\) is a smooth map satisfying \(d=\deg(g,\partial G)\not=0\). This paper is devoted to the asymptotic analysis of minimizers of the Ginzburg-Landau energy functional \[ E_\varepsilon (u)=p^{-1}\int_G| \nabla u| ^p+(4\varepsilon^p)^{-1}\int_G(1-| u| ^2)^2 \] with respect to the class \(W=\{v\in W^{1,p}(G,\mathbb R^n);\;v=g\;\text{on}\;\partial G\}\). The results in this paper generalize those obtained in the case \(p=2\). The proofs rely on standard variational arguments and elliptic estimates.
