In the paper linear, infinite-dimensional, continuous-time control systems with constant coefficients are considered. First, the system is written as an abstract differential equation in suitable defined infinite-dimensional Hilbert space of type \(l^2\). The state equation contains external perturbation, which disturbe the system. The main problem is to design a finite-dimensional feedback controller to damping the external disturbances. The synthesis procedure for such controller is presented using operator Riccati equation and the methods taken directly from the theory of the space \(H^\infty\). In the proofs of the main results finite approximation of infinite-dimensional control system is also used. Moreover, several remarks and comments of synthesis procedure for infinite-dimensional systems are also given. As an illustrative example elastic beam with one fixed end is discussed. Finally, it show be mentioned, that \(H^\infty\) problems were detaily considered in the monograph [\textit{B. A. Francis}, ``A course in \(H^\infty\) control theory'', Springer-Verlag, New York (1987; Zbl 0624.93003)].
