S. T. Yau's conjecture that any surface can be isometrically immersed into \(\mathbb R^4\) is still open for non-orientable surfaces. The authors of the present paper construct an isometric embedding of a Möbius band into \(\mathbb R\) whose Gaussian curvature is always positive. This result can also be regarded as an attempt to attack M. L. Gromov's open question if there exists an isometric immersion of \(\mathbb R\mathbb P^2\) into \(\mathbb R^4\) with positive Gaussian curvature, since the real projective plane \(\mathbb R\mathbb P^2\) can be considered as the space given by attaching a two-dimensional disk \(D^2\) to the Möbius band.
