The authors characterize lattices in the variety of lower bounded lattices of rank \(k\). They give a sufficient condition for a lattice to be lower bounded and use it to produce a new example of a non-finitely-generated lower bounded lattice. They also characterize lattices that are subdirect products of finite lower bounded lattices.
