A pseudovariety is a class of finite algebras of the same type which is closed under the formation of homomorphic images, subalgebras and finite direct products. \textit{J. Reiterman} [Algebra Univers. 14, 1--10 (1982; Zbl 0484.08007)] proved that pseudovarieties are classes of finite algebras which may be defined by sets of pseudoidentities -- formal equalities of so-called implicit operations. Pseudovarieties are important in the theory of finite state automata, rational languages, finite semigroups and their connections. In a very natural way, there arises the question for the clone of a pseudovariety. In the paper, this algebraic structure is studied.
