Eine neuer Beweis des Finslerschen Satzes (Comment. math. Helvetici 9 (1937), 188-192; JFM 63.0054.*) über zwei reelle quadratische Formen in \(n\) Veränderlichen \(P(z)\) und \(Q(z)\): Ist \(P(z) > 0\) für alle Punkte \(z\neq 0\), in welchen \(Q(z) = 0\) ist, dann existiert ein reelles \(\mu \) so, daß \(P(z) + \mu Q(z)\) positiv definit ist.
