The authors study the scalar reaction-diffusion equation \[ \begin{cases} u_{t}=u_{xx}+bu+g(x,u,u_x), \quad x\in [0,\pi],\\ u_x(t,0)=u_x(t,\pi)=0, \end{cases} \] where \(g:[0,\pi]\times \mathbb{R}^2\to \mathbb{R}\) is a bounded \(C^2\) function. The asymptotic behavior of grow-up solutions to the equation is discussed and then the existence of equilibria at infinity is proved under nondegeneracy conditions. Moreover, the decomposition of the corresponding non-compact global attractor and the connecting orbit structure are investigated, and a criterion for the existence of heteroclinic connections is obtained.
