The present paper presents the asymptotics of the determinants \[ \det\left[W_R(\phi)\pm H_R(\phi)\right]\,,\quad \text{as} \quad R\rightarrow \infty\,, \] of truncated Wiener-Hopf plus/minus Hankel operators \(W_R(\phi)\pm H_R(\phi)\) acting on \(L^2(0,R)\), \[ [W_R(\phi)f](x)= f(x)+\int_0^Rk(x-y)f(y)\;dy, \] \[ [H_R(\phi)f](x)= f(x)+\int_0^Rk(x+y)f(y)\;dy, \] where \(k\) denotes the Fourier transform of some particular elements \(\phi-1\in L^1(\mathbb R)\). Namely, the asymptotics of those determinants is worked out for the following even generating function \(\phi\) with a single singularity: \[ \phi(x) = {\left(\frac{x^2}{1+x^2}\right)}^\beta, \] where \(\beta\) is a parameter of small size. A central part of the proposed method for obtaining the results is based on the transfer of asymptotic properties from the discrete analogue case. For this, it is very relevant the application of Borodin--Okounkov type formulas, the use of the Barnes \(G\)-function, and the results of some of the earlier papers of the same authors [Math.\ Nachr.\ 228, 5--45 (2001; Zbl 1047.47020), Oper.\ Theory, Adv.\ Appl.\ 135, 61--90 (2002; Zbl 1025.15011)]. It is stated in the work that the results are deeply connected with the complete asymptotics of the Fredholm determinant of the sine kernel (which is very useful in random matrix theory and it was obtained without using the Riemann--Hilbert method in the second author's paper [Commun.\ Math. Phys.\ 262, No.~2, 317--341 (2006; Zbl 1113.82030)]).
