The authors consider a two-dimensional lattice gas with two species. The species are positively and negatively charged particles that are driven in opposite directions by an external field along one of the axes of the lattice [\textit{B. Schmittmann} and \textit{R. K. P. Zia}, Statistical mechanics of driven diffusive systems, Academic Press (1995)]. Using a Monte Carlo renormalization group approach the authors collect the histograms of the cluster configurations on the coarse-grained lattice, which are generated from the configurations on the original lattice, by modified majority rule mapping, and compute through the minimization procedure the values of the dynamical parameters on the rescaled lattice. Finally they illustrate its application to the three-state driven lattice gas.
