A complete bifurcation diagram of the Ginzburg-Landau equation with periodic boundary conditions (Q2583077)

The authors consider the Ginzburg-Landau equation with periodic boundary conditions: \[ \psi_t=\psi_{xx}+\lambda(1-| \psi| ^2)\psi,~~\psi(x+2\pi,t)=\psi(x,t),~~x \in \mathbb R \] where \(\lambda\) is a positive parameter and \(\psi\) is a complex valued function. In the main result, the authors establish a final description for a full set of solutions of the problem and give its complete bifurcation diagram. Previous results in this direction have been obtained by \textit{D. L. Barrow} and \textit{P. W. Bates} [J. Differ. Equations 50, 218--233 (1983; Zbl 0494.35056)] and \textit{P. W. Bates} [Proc.
