The authors prove that the Bergman metric and the Kobayashi metric of a Cartan domain of the second type \(D\) are comparable. To this aim, they construct an invariant Kähler metric on \(D\) greater than (or equal to) the Bergman metric, and with holomorphic sectional curvature bounded above by a negative constant.
