Verf. eröffnet eine Reihe von Studien an Hand des von T. Hayashi in Sendai angesammelten Stoffes. Note I untersucht den chinesischen Einfluß auf einige Arbeiten des K. Seki (1642?-1708), seiner Schüler Kemmei Takebe und Kenkô Takebe und anderer. Note II behandelt Arbeiten über diophantische Approximationen. Es stellt sich heraus, daß Kenkô Takebe sich eines Verfahrens bedient, das dem Jacobischen Algorithmus (\textit{Jacobi, Heine}, J. reine angew. Math. 69 (1868); 29-64; F. d. M. 1, 62 (JFM 01.0062.*)) ähnlich ist.
