The paper is devoted to the secondary school pupils. The author shows solutions of several extremal problems from the elementary Euclidean geometry involving triangles. For instance, the triangle with maximal perimeter (area) among all the triangles with a given base and given area (perimeter) is the isosceles one, or from all the triangles inscribed in a given triangle, the triangle with the least possible perimeter is that given by the foots of the altitudes.
