On parametrization of the submanifold of matrices with a fixed structure of Jordan blocks (Q259823)

In the first three sections of the paper, the following facts are presented: necessary facts from the theory of orbits and families of matrices, some local diffeomorphisms and their properties, and a subset of matrices with a single eigenvalue to which there corresponds a fixed structure of Jordan blocks. Next, the main theorem on the submanifold of complex matrices with a fixed structure of the Jordan blocks of a distinguished eigenvalue is proved. Further, this theorem is generalized to the case of several eigenvalues. Finally, a comparative characterization of two different parametrizations is presented.
