The paper presents a fairly pragmatic physicist's approach to the evaluation of a probability of electrons penetrating a nonpolar dielectric interface. The problem is addressed with respect to non-equilibrium electrons tunneling from one dielectric to another. The transparency of the internal and external potential barriers is calculated. It is mentioned that field emissions through an interface can be used as a way of investigating the surface properties of both the liquid and solid matter.
