\(A = (a_{ik})\) sei eine quadratische Matrix. (1) Setzt man \(2Si=\sum\limits_{k=1}^{n} (|\, a_{ik} \,| + |\, a_{ki} \,|)\), so ist jede charakteristische Wurzel von \(A\) dem Betrage nach \(\leqq\) max \(S_i\). (2) Setzt man \(\sigma_i=\sum\limits_{k=1}^{n} |\, a_{ik} \,|^2\), so liegen alle \(\sigma_i\) zwischen der kleinsten und der größten Wurzel von \(A \overline{A}'\).
