Die Iterierten \[ H_n(\xi,\eta) = \int\limits_0^\infty \dfrac{H_{n-1}(t,\eta)}{\xi+t}dt \] des \textit{Stieltjes}schen Kernes \(H_1(\xi,\eta) = \dfrac1{\xi+\eta}\) lassen sich als lineare Kombinationen der elementaren Funktionen \[ \dfrac{(\log\xi-\log\eta)^{2k+1}}{\xi-\eta} \quad\text{und}\quad \dfrac{(\log\xi-\log\eta)^{2k}}{\xi-\eta}\qquad (k = 0,1,\ldots) \] darstellen.
