Es werden die Verrückungen an der Oberfläche einer elastischen Schicht berechnet, wenn im Innern der Schicht ein bestimmter punktförmiger Spannungszustand angenommen wird. Speziell wird als Spannungszustand ein Scherungskräftepaar angenommen; die daraus folgenden Verrückungen werden graphisch dargestellt. Auf die Bedeutung für die Erdbebenkunde wird hingewiesen.
