Note concerning group postulates. (Q2616690)

Eine Gesamtheit \(G\) von Elementen \(a, b,\dots \) genüge hinsichtlich einer Relation \(x\cdot y = z\) folgenden Postulaten: Die Gleichungen \(a\cdot u = b\) und \(v\cdot a = b\) haben Lösungen \(u, v\) für beliebige \(a, b\); sind \(a, b, c, a\cdot b, b\cdot c, (a\cdot b)\cdot c, a\cdot (b\cdot c)\) Elemente von \(G\), so ist \(a\cdot (b\cdot c) = (a\cdot b)\cdot c\). Dann ist, wie Verf. beweist, die Gleichung \(a\cdot b = w\) lösbar für beliebige \(a, b\); also ist \(G\) eine Gruppe. Dies ist eine Verschärfung eines Satzes von \textit{Huntington} (1902; F. d. M. 39, 142 (JFM 39.0142.*)).
