Let \(A\) be a finite dimensional associative algebra over a field \(\Phi\), \(N\) be the radical of \(A\), and \(A/N\) be a separable algebra. Let \(G\) denote a finite group whose elements are automorphisms or anti-automorphisms of \(A\). By the Wedderburn theorem \(A\) possesses a separable subalgebra \(S\) such that \(A = S+N\), \(S\cap N = 0\), and \(S\cong A/N\). \(S\) can be chosen to be \(G\)-invariant as the author showed in his previous paper [Ill. J. Math. 1, 565--573 (1957; Zbl 0094.02103)]. In the present note the uniqueness of the decomposition is proved for the special case that the characteristic of \(\Phi\) equals zero. Let \(A = T+N\) be another decomposition of the same type. Then there exists an inner automorphism which commutes with each element of \(G\), and which carries \(S\) onto \(T\). This automorphism can be chosen to be of the form \(\exp (\text{Ad}\, z)\) for some \(z\in N\), and \(\tau z = z\) for all \(\tau\in G\).
