    Let \(\Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R}^{n}\) (\(n \geq 2\)) be a smooth bounded convex domain with positive boundary Gaussian curvature. The authors consider the following boundary value problem for the Monge-Ampère equation: \(\det \left (D^{2}u\right ) =b\left (x\right )f\left ( -x\right )\) in \(\Omega \) and \(u =0\) on \( \partial \Omega \), where \(f \in C^{1}\left (0 ,\infty \right )\), \(f\) decreases in \(\left (0 ,\infty \right )\), has a singularity at \(0\) (\(\lim _{s \rightarrow 0}f\left (s\right ) =\infty \)), \(b \in C^{3}\left (\Omega \right )\) and both \(f\) and \(b\) are positive in \(\Omega \). The authors prove the existence and asymptotic boundary behavior of convex solutions by imposing lengthy general conditions on the limiting boundary behavior of the functions \(f\) (see (\(f_{1}\)) and (\(f_{2}\)) ) and \(b\) (see (\(b_{1}\)) and (\(b_{2}\)) ). In particular, \(b\) can be unbounded in \(\Omega \) or \(0\) on \( \partial \Omega \).
