Let \(M(X)\) be a space of measures on a locally compact Hausdorff space \(X\). The authors consider the strict topology \(\beta(X)\) on \(M(X)\), in the sense of the authors [Topology Appl. 160, No. 7, 887--895 (2013; Zbl 1284.28008)]. They show that it is the weak topology under all multipliers induced by a function space on \(M(X)\). Moreover, \(\beta(X)\) can be considered as a mixed topology. As an application, they obtain that \((M(X),\beta(X))\) is a Mazur space and the locally convex space \((M(S),\beta(S))\), equipped with the convolution multiplication is a complete semitopological algebra, for each compactly cancellative semigroup \(S\) with identity.
