This paper proves a comparison formula for the Donaldson-Thomas invariants of a flop pair of smooth Calabi-Yau 3-folds. The key tools are the equivalence of the categories of perverse coherent sheaves under flop and explicit calculation in the motivic Hall algebras of these categories. The first ingredient is established by Bridgeland's result on flops, and the second on is given by Joyce's theory of motivic Hall algebras. Brief and clear preliminaries on perverse coherent sheaves and motivic Hall algebras are given in Section 1 and 2. Section 3 gives the proof of the comparison formula, starting with the key calculation on perverse Hilbert schemes. Overall the text is well written and readers will find easily what is the key argument in the proof. A detailed explanation of the calculation is also of great worth.
