Let \((A,\mathfrak{m})\) be a Cohen-Macaulay local ring with infinite residue field and let \(I\) be an \(\mathfrak{m}\)-primary ideal of \(A\). Let \(\mathbf{x}=x_1,\ldots,x_r\) be a \(A\)-superficial sequence with respect to \(I\). Let \({\mathcal V}_I(\mathbf{x})=\bigoplus_{n \geq 1}\frac{I^{n+1}\cap (\mathbf{x})}{I^n\mathbf{x}}\) denote the Valabrega-Valla module. In the article under review, the author shows that if \(\mathrm{depth} G(I) < r\), then \[ a_r(I)=\bigcap_\mathbf{x} \text{ann}_A({\mathcal V}_I(\mathbf{x})) \] where \(\mathbf{x}=x_1,\ldots,x_r\) is a \(A\)-superficial sequence with respect to \(I\), is \(\mathfrak{m}\)-primary (Theorem 5.3). Furthermore it is shown that \(\bigcap_{n \geq 1} a_r(I^n)\) is also \(\mathfrak{m}\)-primary (Theorem 6.3).
