In [J. Differ. Geom. 96, No. 2, 183--200 (2014; Zbl 1295.53062)], \textit{A. Fraser} and \textit{M. M. C. Li} proved a compactness theorem for the space of compact properly embedded minimal surfaces with free boundary in compact three-dimensional manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature and strictly convex boundary, which is a free-boundary version of the classical compactness theorem. In this article, the authors show the existence of a properly embedded smooth \(f\)-minimal surface \(\Sigma\) in \(M\) with free boundary \(\partial\Sigma\) on \(\partial M\). Further, they prove that \(M^3\) is diffeomorphic to the 3-ball \(B^3\). Results are well motivated and new.
