Let $X$ be a locally convex Hausdorff space and $m$ be a $X$-valued vector measure defined on a measurable space ${(\Omega, \Sigma)}$. The topic of the paper is the characterization of the closedness of $m$. This notion was introduced by \textit{I. Kluvanek} [Math. Syst. Theory 7, 44--54 (1973; Zbl 0256.28008)]. \par The authors rectify some propositions from Kluvanek's investigations. More precisely, one of the main results states that $m$ is closed iff there exists the Maharam measure ${i:\Sigma\to[0,\infty]}$ such that the scalar measure $\mu={\langle m,x^*\rangle}$ is \textit{truly continuous} with respect to $i$ for each ${x^*\in X^*}.$ In the Kluvanek's incorrect work the measure $i$ was localizable in some sense (not Maharam) and the absolutely continuity was in place of the truly continuity. The last means absolutely continuity plus an additional assumption: if ${\mu(E)\neq0}$ then there exists ${F\in\Sigma}$ such that ${i(F)<\infty}$ and ${\mu(E\cap F)\neq0}.$
