Some problems concerning algebras of holomorphic functions (Q2631744)

Let $X$ be a complex Banach space with open unit ball $B_X.$ The maximal ideal space or spectrum of the uniform algebra $H^\infty(B_X)$ of holomorphic and bounded functions on $B_X,$ and the one of the Fréchet algebra of holomorphic functions on $X$ that are bounded on balls, $H_b(X),$ are the subject of this survey article. No complete description of both spectra is known for general $X,$ and the author presents, after a smooth introduction, a number of open problems concerning what we could roughly describe as versions of the corona theorem.
