The main goal of this article is to provide useful estimates for the Green's function of the discrete bilaplacian operator in squares and cubes in two and three dimensions. The approach relies on transfering the estimates for the continuous bilaplacian using a new discrete compactness argument and a discrete version of the Caccioppoli inequality. Such results are particularly useful in the study of entropic repulsion for the membrane model from statistical physics.
