The authors study the multiplicative homotopy type of the based loops $\Omega \mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{C})\simeq \Omega \mathrm{SU}(n)$ from the point of view of the multiplicative stable homotopy category. Note that there are two multiplications on it, one arising from the composition of based loops and the other one from the group multiplication on $\mathrm{SU}(n)$. Recall the following Bott filtration constructed by \textit{S. A. Mitchell} [Math. Z. 193, 347--362 (1986; Zbl 0613.57025)] and independently \textit{G. Segal} [Lond. Math. Soc. Lect. Note Ser. 139, 153--164 (1989; Zbl 0702.58017)] \[ *=F_{n,0}\to F_{n,1}\to F_{n,2}\to \cdots \cdots \to \Omega \mathrm{SU}(n) \] and the stable homotopy equivalence (obtained by Mitchell and Richter) $\Sigma^{\infty}_+\Omega \mathrm{SU}(n)\simeq \bigvee_{k\geq 1}\Sigma^{\infty}F_{n,k}/F_{n,k-1}.$ \par First, the authors show that the suspension of the Bott filtration is an $\mathbb{A}_{\infty}$-algebra object in filtered spectra and they prove that the Bott filtration of $\Sigma^{\infty}_+\Omega \mathrm{SU}(n)$ is equivalent to its associated graded one as an $\mathbb{A}_{\infty}$-algbera object in filtered spectra. Next, they show that the above result is best possible. Indeed, they prove that the Bott filtration of $\Sigma^{\infty}_+\Omega \mathrm{SU}(n)$ is not equivalent to its $\mathbb{E}_2$ associated graded one as an $\mathbb{E}_2$-algebra object in filtered spectra if $n\geq 4$. However, they show that the above result can be improved in the complex bordism theory. \par Let $MU$ denote the $\mathbb{E}_{\infty}$-ring spectrum of complex bordism and let $R_k$ $(k=1,2)$ be any two (ungraded) $\mathbb{E}_2$-algebras with the same underlying $\mathbb{A}_{\infty}$-ring spectrum $\Sigma^{\infty}_+\Omega \mathrm{SU}(n)$. In this situation they prove that there is an equivalence $MU\wedge R_1\simeq MU\wedge R_2$ as $\mathbb{E}_2$-$MU$-algebras. Their proofs are based on the analysis of the multiplicative properties of Weiss calculus and explicit obstruction computations.
