There are many works about real hypersurfaces in complex space forms. In a recent paper, \textit{H. Anciaux} and \textit{K. Panagiotidou} [Differ. Geom. Appl. 42, 1--14 (2015; Zbl 1331.53077)] developed a theory for non-degenerate real hypersurfaces in complex and para-complex nonflat indefinite space forms and put several open problems. In the present paper, the authors develop some ideas of this theory in the case when the ambient space is a nonflat indefinite complex projective space. New examples of Hopf real hypersurfaces of several types are constructed, some of them answer positively problems formulated by Anciaux and Panagiotidou. A classification conjecture on these new examples is formulated. Further, a rigidity result on real hypersurfaces is proved and classifications of some special situations are given.
