Generalised-prox-regularity in reflexive smooth Banach spaces with smooth dual norm (Q2633760)

The paper is concerned with the properties of the generalized projection on nonconvex sets in reflexive smooth Banach spaces with smooth dual norm started in [\textit{M. Bounkhel}, J. Funct. Spaces 2015, Article ID 478437, 7 p. (2015; Zbl 1339.46010)]. A new class of nonconvex sets in Banach spaces is defined. This class contains the convex closed sets and has various important properties in spaces with a uniformly convex smooth norm. A density theorem for the generalized projection on closed nonconvex sets in reflexive Banach spaces with smooth dual norm is put forward. The concept of prox-regularity is extended to reflexive smooth Banach spaces by using the generalized projection. The global concept of generalized prox-regularity is examined. Uniformly generalised prox-regular sets are studied. The convexity of closed sets in terms of the uniform generalized prox-regularity is characterized.
