A subset of a Banach space is a Chebyshev set if every point in the Banach space has a unique best approximation from the set. It is still not known if every Chebyshev set in a Hilbert space is a convex set. The author previously presented one of the significant examples related to the general problem, he described a non-convex Chebyshev subset \(T\) of the incomplete space of \(l_2\)-functions having only a finite number of coordinates with non-zero entries. In this paper, the author shows that his example does not directly lead to a counter-example of the general question. He shows that the closure of \(T\) is not a Chebyshev set in the completion of the pre-Hilbert space \(l_2\).
