This paper is concerned with the weighted Laplace operator defined by \(\Delta _{\alpha }=\overline{\partial }_{z}y^{-\alpha }\partial _{z}\), where \(z=x+iy\) belongs to the upper half-plane \(\mathbb{C}_{+}\) and \(\alpha >-1\). In particular, it investigates the associated Dirichlet problem: given a distribution \(f\) on \(\mathbb{R}\), find \(u\) satisfying \(\Delta _{\alpha }u=0\) on \(\mathbb{C}_{+}\) and \(u=f\) on \(\mathbb{R}\). Solutions are not unique, but the authors are able to characterize solutions to the homogeneous problem (where \(f\equiv 0\)) with polynomial growth. They provide a Poisson kernel for solving the above Dirichlet problem, and investigate what type of boundary data \(f\) can be addressed by means of a Poisson integral.
